Welcome to my personal website. I am a Machine Learning Engineer who loves to work on cutting-edge research, but also bring 4 years of C-level management experience into the mix. Maekersuite Ltd.Maekersuite is an AI-powered video pre-production platform. As Head of AI & Innovation I led the strategic planning, design and development of all R&D projects, especially in the area of LLMs and Multimodal (video) data analysis. As one of the first technical hires I was involved hands-on in the fine-tuning of Multimodal LLMs like e.g. FUYU-8b under an Innovate-UK funded research project.

CERNDuring my thesis I conducted research for LHCb on improving the measurement of Energy carried by electrons using Machine Learning. That involved working with PINNs and ensemble models to reconstruct the behaviour of electrons during their collision trajectory.

MaekersuiteOne of Maekersuite’s key offering is an advanced video-script writing system that allows professionals with limited experience in content creation to tell great stories. GPT3-5 and FUYU-8B were fine-tuned and enabled to autonomously conduct online research to improve the quality of generation. The 14-months project was funded both internally and through Innovate UK (government) with £350k and was executed ahead of schedule and below budget under my sole management

Automated Analysis of Pharmaceutical Records
CamHCRCamHCR is a company focusing on consulting multinational Pharma companies such as J&J, Pfizer etc. Octoshrew was called in as external consultants to help with improving business operations. We identified that a company-wide retrieval and analysis system for data from past reports could improve productivity by up to 20%. Due to the highly specific nature of texts, an embedding model was fine-tuned and combined with GPT-3 to be able to provide analysis of the records to the consultants on-demand.

OctoShrew took over the development of a system which allows autonomous control of over 100 drones simultaneously over large areas of open space requiring highly optimized algorithms as well as rigorous GPU optimization. Extensive experience in working with LiDAR & Vision data to safely navigate drones through a dynamic environment was gathered.

I oversaw the development of a student evaluation and exercise recommendation system which used a variety of methods to push the boundaries of the SOTA. The core element of the project was applying advanced methods such as Reinforcement Learning (recommendation) and LLMs (evaluation) such that the results still remained explainable as required by Austrian law.
